Ingredients of Korean Fried Chicken

  1. It’s of coating.
  2. Prepare of chicken breasts.
  3. Prepare of cornflour.
  4. You need of baking powder.
  5. You need of salt.
  6. Prepare of black pepper.
  7. You need of bbq sauce.
  8. You need of sweet chilli.
  9. It’s of hot sauce.
  10. Prepare of ketchup.
  11. It’s of brown sugar.
  12. Prepare of soy sauce.
  13. Prepare of sesame oil.
  14. It’s of grated fresh ginger.
  15. You need of chopped garlic cloves.
  16. You need of batter.
  17. You need of cornflour.
  18. It’s of breadcrumbs.
  19. You need of plain flour.
  20. It’s of chilli flakes.
  21. You need of salt.
  22. It’s of black onion seeds/onion powder.
  23. Prepare of baking powder.
  24. You need of vodka.
  25. Prepare of vegetable oil (frying).
  26. You need of hot sauce.

Korean Fried Chicken step by step

  1. Coating- combine all ingredients bar chicken.
  2. Add chicken, coat and set aside.
  3. BBQ sauce- combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer for 3 mins until slightly thickened and set aside.
  4. For the chicken, place a large, wide, pan over a medium-high heat, fill with oil (at least 5cm deep) and heat.
  5. Batter- Whisk together dry ingredients. In a small bowl, whisk together the hot sauce, vodka and 240ml water.
  6. Just before you're ready to cook the chicken, whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and coat chicken.
  7. Cook the chicken in 2 batches for 8-10 mins in the hot oil until crispy (turn about).
